Combining a passion for community and helping others, Chris has worked in the housing industry for 25 years, starting as a Mortgage Loan Officer and in New Hope, PA and and since 2010 as a full-time realtor in Rehoboth Beach. In addition to Delaware, he has also held real estate licenses in PA & NJ.
After working locally with Berkshire Hathaway for nearly 12 years, Chris joined Compass Real Estate in April of 2021 and currently is the Principal Agent of The Chris Beagle Group, a six-person team who collectively hold licenses in DE, MD, DC and VA.
A consistent top producer over the last decade, Chris was recognized multiple years as a member of the President’s & Founder’s Circles (while at Berkshire Hathaway) representing the Top 3% of agents nationwide. In 2015, he received the franchise’s Community Service Award.
A Pennsylvania native, Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Welfare from Bloomsburg University and a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Penn State University. In 1989, it was there he met his partner, and now husband, Eric Engelhart.
The couple purchased a second home in Rehoboth in 2003 and just three years later, relocated here as full time residents. Chris and Eric have lived in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club since then.
Chris has served on numerous non-profit boards for nearly 25 years. From 2009 to the end of 2022, Chris served on the Board of Directors of the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, the largest LGBT non-profit in Delaware. There he served as Vice President from 2013 to 2017 and as President from 2018 to 2021. He's also a founding Board Member of Equality Delaware and has served on boards at Cape Henlopen Education Foundation (CHEF), the Washington Blade Foundation, and the Sussex County Association of Realtors' Community Service Board.
At CAMP Rehoboth, he was the co-founder of the annual Sundance Racing Festival (2010), founder of the annual CAMP Rehoboth Block Party (2015), and was a leading advocate for Delaware’s Civil Union and Same-Sex Marriage legislation (2011-2013).
On July 1, 2013, Chris and Eric were the first couple married in Sussex County (ceremony), and only the second in the State, behind former Senator Karen Peterson and her wife, Vikki Bandy.
